Mr. Joshua Jih Pan was invited to deliver a speech at the memorial residence of the late Dr. Kwoh-ting Li on September 16th. Mr. Pan discussed the topic that Dr. Li always evocated, the ethics of self vs. mutual relationships. He further elaborated that architects should carefully interact with users, urban space, and the environment via the reflection of the behavior and human nature in their works. With this requirement being fulfilled, then architects are able to achieve timeless design and enduring quality of professional expertise.
The speech was two-hours long and held in the 60-seats exhibition room of the late Dr. Li’s residence, whereas the eager audience had exceeded 100. Apart from the keynote speech, Mr. Pan once again thanked Dr. Li, the father of Taiwan’s technological development, for his selfless dedication and for serving as a role model for politicians.
