On November 16th, Mr. Joshua Jih Pan, FAIA, was invited to lecture in the Hao-Ran International Conference Hall at National Chiao Tung University. The lecture attracted numerous people both inside and outside of the campus, some even brought Mr. Pan's book (Brick by Brick — Building the Foundation of Life) to ask for his autograph.

The National Awards for Arts Lecture series are held by Arts Center in National Chiao Tung University. Hui-Kuan Hung, Director of the Arts Center, highly regarded Mr. Pan's contribution since the Student Activity Center in National Chiao Tung University was an early work by him and his colleagues. In addition, Professor Shu-Chang Kung, Director of Graduate Institution of Architecture in National Chiao Tung University and Professor Chi-Yi Chang, the newly appointed, Vice President for General Affairs at the National Chiao Tung University also presented to introduce Mr.Pan's dedication in architecture field and was afforded the 19th National Awards for Arts.

Themed with “Architecture, Vessel of Time”, the lecture explored a series of highly cultivated Taiwan architectures that carry the idea of “Respect for Nature, Harmony with Environment, and Compassion for Man”. Mr.Pan shared his reflection for earth and concerns for society from an architect's perspective.
The lecture lasted for 110 minutes, and an enthusiastic interaction afterwards greatly impressed Mr.Pan as well as the audience.
