Joshua Jih Pan, FAIA is invited to give two speeches at the 17th China Hospital Construction Conference where the event is held in Hefei this year. In the first speech, Mr. Pan advocated that not only medicals but also disease prevention and healthcare matter to people. It is very essential for people to adopt sustainable design that heals the relationship between the earth and human beings via reflection to the nature.

He also shared Healing Environment, the core design concept of Cancer Centre of Taiwan University Hospital, which describes how to realize the idea of sustainability, social connection, holistic healthcare into architecture. He further introduced some architectural instances that show the importance of sustainable architecture to the environment and healthcare so that he hopes there would be more investment in the healing sustainable architecture design in the near future.
